Poops and poopoos

The title may sound weird but that's what is running through my mind now as Purvi can poopoo any time.

It's just amazing to see Purvi and sometimes I can't just imagine myself doing all that I do now as a mum. Things like making Purvi do poopoo, give her bath, wash her clothes, feed her when she cries and other small things like that.

Sometimes even small things look so big as its tough to leave Purvi alone and do the household work. Becoming mom is a full time job.

As of Purvi, she has discovered her hands as well as ours. She tries to hold our hands and play with hers. It's not easy to understand her silent language as she only knows how to cry?

She cries when:
  1. She is hungry
  2. she is feeling cold
  3. she want to go poopoo
  4. she wants me by her side
  5. she wants to hold her toys
All in all my daughter knows how to CRY :) and much more.

I am able to blog today as my hubby is taking care of our daughter. Thank You, dear husband.

That's Motherhood!

I think motherhood is all about not getting time for yourself, it's all about TIME FOR THE BABY! Well, whenever I plan to blog or surf net, Purvi wakes up as if knowing that mum is going to be busy for herself. This picture was taken in the Hospital when Purvi was one day old.

Hot and Happening

The title is for my daughter. She's the talk of my household. The first kid is so very special and at the same time so very tough to be a first time mother. The first week with Purvi was very crucial as she used to cry a lot. I thought she is turning colic but the doctor told us that she has an infection.
She's waking up....just checked sleeping peacefully. Thank God! Our nights are her mornings and vice versa. I don't know how many times I have cried with her but now she looks well.
Will check back later, I think she's waking up.

I am 36 weeks pregnant...wow

It sounds and feels great, I am 36+ weeks pregnant. Could not post earlier on the progress as I was too busy with shifting my house to a new location. To add to the discomfort there was no net at home. We applied for the net connection in June, as soon as we shifted to the new location, still the MTNL people haven't come to look into the matter
,don't know why?
In the meantime, with no net at my new home, I am at my parents home, here for delivery. I read some good books and also my maternity book :) Got few XL clothes for myself and now planning to make my baby bag.
Around 30th week, I came to know that my HB level has dropped to 8.7 from 9.8 accompanied with a little weight loss, which made me tensed :( When we consulted the Doc. she told us it's normal for HB level to drop at this stage as the baby is taking feed from the mother. But I need to take more care of myself. Finally, I was asked to go for some iron shots(iron injections are just too painful because they are injected deep in your skin)
I am on with my regular visits to the doctor till the time of delivery. Praying for safe and sound delivery.

Books and me

"Books are a man's best friend", I've heard the saying around 100 times and agree with it totally. I have to blog about this incident which is so funny but before that tell me how would u feel if u were told about the climax just in middle of the movie? I really would not enjoy it. I remember reading Erich Segal's - The Love Story and I thoroughly enjoyed reading it until my brother told me "Ohh! Love Story..this book...I think it's the same story where in the end the girl dies, Why are u reading it u should have asked me". He smiled and went away. I had read only half the book and left it halfway. Will read it some time later when I'll forget who dies in the end.

I don't enjoy lonnngggg novels and specially those which have pathetic story line but something interesting which binds me till the end is worth reading. Currently I am reading "Around the world in 80 days" by Jules Verne and just few days back I finished "The One Minute Mother" by Spencer Johnson. Amazing book on mothering and tips to raise children.

But I believe no book can teach u how to mother children, it's something which is natural and comes from within. Isn't it? Although I would love to know what other people have to say about being a mom and their experience being "children".

As of now I am enjoying my time with the books and hope u have a good time too.

Boy or a Girl?

Well, a daughter for me! Don't get me wrong, I haven't asked my Gynae and I am not interested to even ask. I want it to be a surprise. I like it that way :) Ok, something very interesting- today, when I entered my office, two of my colleagues were in a meeting. I was about the sit on my chair when suddenly one of them came and told me "You are gonna have a girl, for sure!". She thinks I am glowing and this glow means a GIRL. The other one said I think it's a boy, for sure. I was laughing like crazy.

Well, whatever it is I wish good health and happiness for my kiddo!

Also, I am feeling a little a low past 2-3 days, I guess normal pregnancy issue. Haven't been sleeping well for past few days. I hope my problems go away with sound sleep today. I have been thinking so much like- shifting, my unborn child, office stress etc.

I pray I get over all this and enjoy my pregnancy a little more comfortably.

Wanderers...Hmmm...not really

If you are a WAHM or a working woman, the process of shifting from one place to another place becomes more tiring. An icing on top would be shifting while pregnant!
Our lease with our landlord is coming to an end and we plan to move to another place. We are shifting to a different location and here are a few tips to make shifting process a little easy:
  1. If you are hiring professionals for packing, sit back and relax, they will do the work for you but make sure you have markers with you for marking and labeling different boxes.
  2. Pack your blankets, quilts and other upholstery items few days before you are ready to move to your new house. Especially useful if you are a working woman.
  3. Buy packing tapes so that the packing becomes a little easy and it's easy to tie stuff together.
  4. Keep water bottles handy and if possible make some lemonade and squash so that you don't dehydrate.
The post comes from my previous experience and will apply all the above mentioned this time too.

Sartoria at Vasant Vihar

Sartoria is an Italian Restaurant situated in Vasant Vihar, Delhi. The restaurant has everything from lasagna to authentic wood oven pizzas. Vasant Vihar boosts of a variety of restaurants like Punjabi By Nature, Nirula's, Mc Donalds and so on. After taking a stroll around we decided to have Italian Cuisine and landed at Satoria. The lady at the door guided us to the second floor of the restaurant and we had a corner table.

After going through the menu card we ordered:
Chicken Escalope Milanes - Chicken breasts fried with bread crumbs and served with fried potatoes.
Hot Chilly Pizza - Baked in wood oven, the thin crust pizza makes up for ever single bite you take! Ohh heaven!! I just loved it! Yummmy! The topping was very ordinary - mozzarella cheese, tomatoes and jalapenos. But I have to tell you this that the jalapenos were not just ordinary ones instead they were chilly jalapenos. The meal for two costs around Rs.1000 to Rs.1200.

The interiors were normal, nothing flashy about the interiors, the sofas were red in color and the ambiance and the live music makes up for every morsel you take.

We enjoyed the food as much as we enjoyed the ambiance and music.

Euphoric, happy and tensed

I never thought becoming MOM is such a big thing, my mind is preoccupied with so many things like how will my baby be, what about his health and so on. Sometimes I am very happy and sometimes a little gloomy. I think these are normal mood swings. Also, I miss my family as I don't live with either set of parents.

Next month I'll be going for my Ultrasound, which is very crucial as per my Doctor. Wish me and my baby good luck!

On embracing motherhood!

This news, as always come a little late on my blog....I am going to be a mom! My second trimester is on and I already feel so tired when I come back from the office. My backache accompanied with a little headache makes it more tough sometimes.

As of now I am reading What To Expect When You Are Expecting, it's a real good book, a must read for new moms.

Also, I came across this site 3dpregnancy, that tells you about week by week pregnancy progress including approx. weight of the baby, length of the baby, changes in the mother's body etc.

So many inputs from all the family members, friends and colleagues, that I just fail to understand whether I am pregnant or they are. The best thing about this period the attention I get! Yeh, that's right, at this very moment, I am enjoying the attention I get.
Will post more as the time progresses.

Bombay Trip

I know my posts come a little late..... every time :P

Ok, we went to Bombay last year on Dec 25, 07 and came back on Dec 30, 07. We went to meet some of our relatives and it was long overdue. While going to Bombay, the journey was good but tiring at the same time. But, while coming back the journey was bad, because of my nose. Yep, I got cold. The temperature in Bombay was real good, not hot at all.

I really enjoyed the weather. Here in North India, we are freezing. The temperature dropped down to zero degree.

When in Bombay, we went for some sightseeing- Marine Drive, Gateway of India, Beaches, Andheri etc.
Before I forget, we also lunched at THE TENDULKAR's- A Multi-cuisine Restaurant. The food is good and they also have the paper coasters, which have some lines printed about Sachin Tendulkar. Then there is a Bar adjoining the food area. The interiors are superb. The kiddie meal says,

Name of the pizza
"Arjun loves it" and

Name of the pizza
"Sarah loves it

Sorry I forgot the name of the dishes which support these lines. This is what the menu says about Sachin Tendulkar's Restaurant
"Almost every aspect of the restaurant has been selected by him ". The Restaurant's seating, and lighting is all blue. As I said the interiors are just too fascinating. It's a must try if you visit Bombay. The Restaurant has it's branch in Bangalore too by the name of Sachin's.

On the enterance wall, there is a collection of cricket balls and some of the balls are signed by famous crickters. The wall also adorns a t-shirt, signed by Indian cricketers. A must go place in Colaba, near Gateway of India.
